The aim of this project is to give people with OI the possibility to make OI friends. If you become a participant you can use the program in many ways; make friends through (e-)mail, chat or phone contact for instance. Or meet with visitors to your country and meet others when you are travelling to a foreign place.
There are several answers. It can be very practical to have contact with a local disabled person when you are travelling. You might like to show a foreign traveller around in the place where you live. Or maybe you are looking for a chat buddy on the internet or a pen friend? In the motivation field on the participants form you can specify what you seek. It can be a lot of fun and you can experience what living with OI in a different culture is like. Participation is open to all individuals and families affected by OI worldwide.
Simple, participants fill in a participants form. This form is sent to the project coordinator. The information on the forms is used to make a contact list with names and addresses. This list is spread among all participants. Participants receive the contact list once a year in printed or electronic version. Each year we will ask you if you want to stay in the project the next year.
For 2005 the project is completely free. We will also try to keep it free in the future but that is no guarantee. We will inform you before you renew your participation if we need to ask a contribution to cover for our costs in future.
Fill out the e-mail participants form / or download a form to be sent by normal mail.

Please make this fun for everyone. Do not assume people want to meet you at all times, do not call outside indicated hours, do not make "surprise visits". We reserve the right to moderate or refuse entries. The OIFE only provides the way for you to get in touch. We cannot and will not take responsibility for any negative outcome. We urge you to use common sense when engaging in contact with strangers. Do not spread the contact list for other than its intended purpose. |
